What Blogs Are Saying About Storyland Yoga

Middle child and I have just recently started doing yoga together. It has been a wonderful bonding experience for she and I. I was encouraged to do so because of the studies that show yoga can be calming for children on the spectrum. The awesome people at Playful Planet gave me the best way possible to introduce middle to yoga.

NonPerfect Parenting September 23, 2014

I think this is a wonderful video to introduce kids to yoga, a great thing that they can do daily to work their bodies and minds. I know it will be something that my kids and I will continue to enjoy together and often!

Cristi’s Reviews, November 20, 2013

Right away they were involved. Mica kept helping Isaak get in the correct positions. Daddy and I were laughing with their sound effects. We truly loved that they were having fun. It’s a great thing to put in when we’re too busy to do things with them. Dinner time has always been part of the day when the kids are needy. This fits right into that time. It gives them a release at the end of a busy school day.

“K has asked for Storyland Yoga at least once a day since then. She says, “Mommy, I want to exercise!” so I change up the episode each time.”

Sassy Sweet Style September 19th, 2013

” We watched the Condor Trek and one of the first things they do (after finding some Condor eggs) is get on their bicycles and ride.  Aubrey knows what a bike is, but I helped her lean back to pedal with her feet & legs.  It was pretty comical as she was doing it, but also saying “kick kick!” at the same time.  Sure baby girl, kick away.”

Melissa Dell…A bit of Everything September 19th 2013

“I think health and exercise in children is very important. If you start it at a young age, you will help them realize this is an important part of life! Healthy kids are happy kids!”

– The Adventures of the Pidala Family Five September 13th, 2013

“There are two stories and the different yoga poses help your child use their imagination to be a part of the story! Emmalee loved it! And it’s a scientific fact that yoga is better for you if done only in a diaper… or something like that… :)”

– Mommy by the Sea July 30th 2013

“My mother is a retired third grade teacher, and she swore by practicing yoga with her kids throughout the day. It helped them focus, center, behave and perform better in their schoolwork.”

– Cookies for Breakfast May 17th, 2013

“I liked that this video makes exercising fun for kids. It’s important for them to move and Ava definitely enjoyed this. There were several times where she stopped and giggled because she thought it was funny to be laying on her back pretending to ride a bike or to be hissing like a snake! It’s a creative way to engage children and make them move.”

– Happily Edwards After May 30th 2013

“His “save the earth” mantra was very positive and my kids loved it.  No equipment is needed, which is great, and it promotes a positive and healthy activity for kids.”

– Our Three Peas May 13th 2013

“Storyland Yoga won’t bore the kids like some yoga vids can, because this one is geared directly for kids… It’s a fun-filled adventure with two stories: Save the Whale and Condor Trek. How do these story elements and yoga come together? Simple. Your kiddo will learn yoga postures by becoming part of the story and imitating the animals they see on the screen.”

– Nerdy With Kids, January 14, 2013

“I appreciate how the instructor, Ahmed, talks and exercises with the children, instead of just instructing them. It compels me to participate with my children. My experience of Ahmed is someone who genuinely enjoys yoga, story telling, and children. He talks to the children in an engaging, yet very genuine way.”

– Presence Parenting, October 29, 2012

“I even did the poses with my little ones. My favorite was watching the two toddlers try to do these. I recommend if you have hard floors and no mats that you use a thick comforter underneath the kids to help cushion if they should happen to fall. My toddlers fell a lot! This made for lots of fun memories of giggling toppling toddlers for me!”

– For Him and My Family, September 13, 2012

“Want to boost your kids activity levels? As funny as it may sound my youngest daughter’s activity level decreased over the course of the summer. So I was extremely excited to be able to introduce to Playful Plant’s DVD [1] centered around yoga for kids. [2] [3] Storyland Yoga helps our children to learn yoga postures by imitating animals and they also become aware of how to help our planet at the same time.”

– Thought’s of a Mother, Wife and Daughter, August 22, 2012

“I love the connecting children with nature aspect (most of the DVD is done in the great outdoors) while incorporating the calm and healthy exercise of yoga with our children. Instructor Ahmed Fahmy does a very organic method to show kids different yoga poses that makes exercise feel like fun and not work. We found it calming and relaxing and just plain entertaining.”

Momma’s Bacon, July 27, 2012

“They love the little animal imitations and using their imaginations while they still get their stretching and exercise on. This DVD not only helps them get active but helps them interact with one another instead of bickering and arguing like they usual do. They have loads of fun laughing together and have even asked to do it every day since we got it.”

BB Product Reviews, July 18, 2012

“This DVD is great because it doesn’t just teach poses but actually tells a story that worked great to keep my daughter engaged. This series is great because it not only gets your child physically moving, but also gets the mental gears going as it requires their wonderful imaginations to move the story along.”

Coping with Frugality, July 14, 2012

“I really enjoyed this product, and my kids loved it too. They fit the perfect age range- four children between 3 to 8, and they all seemed to benefit in different ways. Although Bubby, who is 3, could not follow along as well as the older children, she gave it her best shot and in that, she learned to take a minute, learned healthy habits, and had fun. They even started making up their own stories and putting their own moves to it.”

Samie Designs, July 8, 2012

“While the ages are 3 – 8 years old, I found this can be used for the whole family. My 3 year old soon to be 4, watched it over and over again. While it was hard to get her to do the yoga she sure enjoyed watching the yoga for kids DVD. The yoga moves on the yoga for kids DVD were not hard for her to do at all. They were made to be fun, while getting some exercise as well. This DVD would be fabulous to use on a rainy day.”

Fabulous Deals and Steals, July 7, 2012

“My little testers had a great time learning new yoga poses and were entertained by the stories. The images were bright and fun for each story. Having the combination of fun instructions while learning about so many urgent issues was pure genius. I am so happy to have this video in our collection, it is our first choice in kids yoga!”

– Simple City Life Blog, July 7, 2012

“Storyland Yoga DVD for Kids is intended for ages 3+, and is packaged in 100% recycled materials. This would make a great gift, or summer fun activity! This would also be great to have on hand for summer camp programs, teachers, vacation bible schools, day care centers and more!”

– Mommy’s Block Party, June 28, 2012

“This DVD was wonderful! My daughter insisted on doing both programs in one sitting. It got her stretching and imitating wolves, frogs, crocodiles, bears and more.”

A Year Of Jubilee Reviews, June 26, 2012

“My four year old loved it. She really tried to do it with me. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it and I stretched muscles that I haven’t stretched in years. For me, this was not only an enjoyable activity to do with my girls, it was very good for me as well. Even my 2 year old tried to get in on the action.”

Utah Sweet Savings, June 21, 2012

“Once she figured out that this was a video that she could interact with and imitate, she was hooked.”

Diary of a Working Mom, June 21, 2012

Sweet Silly Sara, June 20, 2012

“The stories keep the kids interested and it is very calming and great to do to settle the little ones down and parents can do it with their kids for a special treat. The poses are not overly complicated and little ones will be able to follow along easily.”

Mommy Ramblings, June 20, 2012

“They love being the sleeping bear or any pose that involves stretching! The DVD is engaging and it gets kids moving. Even if the kids are just running around and jumping, it is getting them moving!”

Family, Love and Other Stuff, June 14, 2012

“If you have kids you are trying get more active or want to introduce your children to yoga, this a great choice for a kids yoga DVD!”

Ordinary House Wife, June 13, 2012

“Even once the video was over, the children continued to talk about the Condor Trek and even played out the story line more in the dramatic play area. I love the idea of teaching them calming moves because it seems children just don’t have enough opportunities in their lives for peace.”

Planet Weidknecht, June 12, 2012

“What immediately struck me was that the Certified Children’s Yoga Instructor leading the kids was drawing both myself and my little guy in. He understood that we were trying to save the beached whale and was very dedicated in this pursuit. A variety of yoga poses are strung together to make for an adventurous story.”

Mama Goes Bam, June 10, 2012

“My niece and her friends loved doing this DVD and I was happy I could share this with them. Now she can be just like her mom and have her own Yoga time. I like that its 100% Recycled Packaging. My niece said she likes the Storyland Yoga DVD.”

Sara Lee’s Steals and Deals, June 10, 2012

“In fact she loved it so much that she cried when it was over and asked if we could “please do the exercises again”! I am not the most health conscience mom on the planet but I am trying to set a good example for the girls and what better way than to participate with them using this kids yoga DVD”

– My Rural Mommy, June 7, 2012

“Storyland Yoga is going to become a TV series on PBS! Because one of us is a teacher and the other is a mother, it is easy to understand why we love PBS. Remember when you were younger and loved to watch Reading Rainbow or Magic School Bus? Yes, that was on PBS Kids! If you are wondering how kids are going to stay still and take breaths as you have seen or done yourself, do not worry! They follow the host by becoming part of the story – they literally imitate animals. Trust us when we say it is not just for the kids to do alone. You may think you look silly but the kids actually love when you do stuff with them.”

Blabs from a SAHM & trophy Wife 2B!, June 6, 2012

“Storyland Yoga is equally fun for parents and family members who can benefit from yoga, while enjoying ‘organic time’ with their children. I like the two stories offered, so they can choose which story they want to enjoy or if time allows both. The Condor Trek lasts 23 minutes and the Save the Whale Run lasts 18 minutes.”

Fishfull Thinking, June 5, 2012

“Five year old Khloe was more excited than eight year old Kyle. Khloe likes to dance and Kyle likes to play video games. Both of my children need to run around and exercise more, so this DVD is perfect for both of them.”

Daddy Waddy Weeviews, June 5, 2012

“Storyland Yoga is truly a fun way to spend time with the kids. They literally exercise their hearts out without ever realizing what they are doing. The story that goes along with the moves keeps the kids active and engaged the whole way through. Not to mention as a parent you can’t help playing along. It’s fun, entertaining, exciting, and your exercising the whole time.”

Inside my Head with Kelli, June 4, 2012

“STORYLAND YOGA_ is mom made, meant for ages 3-8, and comes in 100% recycled packaging. It is a great way for families to enjoy time together. I think Summer is a great time to play outside, but it is also a great time to controlled indoor activities, especially in a cool house. I am glad that I can use _STORYLAND YOGA_ for my kids to practice stretching and it is also a form of entertainment. My kids love to imitate what they see and they have tried to workout with me before, so this is perfect for them.”

Brittleby’s Corner, June 2, 2012

“The narrator tells a story while doing yoga moves. This I think is amazing. As a teacher and a mom, I am always looking for ways to keep my children engaged in learning as well as giving them the chance to release some energy. This is the perfect solution. You put the DVD in the DVD player off you go.”

Adventures of a Frugal Mom, May 29, 2012

“This DVD created by a mom to empower children with fun and engaging activities that embrace health and sustainability is PERFECT for children and parents to begin practicing yoga.
Storyland Yoga is a great new way to spend time with your children while benefiting your child’s mind, body and soul!!”

Africasblog, May 29, 2012

“Parents can also take part in the yoga postures along with their children, as Storyland Yoga isn’t just for kids! Yoga is good for the mind and body of each family member. Oxygen intake increases, which helps heart and lungs. Concentration and focus improves, and flexibility and mobility of your joints increases. Yoga also aids in circulation, energy-flow, digestion, and elimination. Through the use of storytelling, children are given “organic time”, a break from passive television and computers, and an insight to an ancient art form that can bring a family together!”

Mommy Does Blog, May 28, 2012

“The fact that the instructor speaks to the children as well as the children watching the DVD definitely makes children feel like they’re a part of what’s going on. I can see where this is a great parent/child time together activity. The stories talk about animals and the earth while the exercise is a healthy alternative to sitting and watching movies. “

Minding Spot, May 28, 2012

This kids yoga DVD is really cute… the teacher was really good with the kids that were in the video. M really liked copying all the kids in the stories, which I thought was really fun to watch. The postures were great for her age, and any of the more challenging ones she was ok with a little help until she “got it”.”

The Baby Bottom Line, May 28, 2012

“We’ve watched the video a few more times and the kids are still finding new animal poses to try out. They love being the sleeping bear or any pose that involves stretching! The DVD is engaging and it gets kids moving. Even if the kids are just running around and jumping, it is getting them moving!”

– Family, Love and Other Stuff, May 25, 2012

“Ahmed had a very soothing and calming voice, and the children looked like they were having a blast. It was nice to see that they were not perfect. They had obviously not rehearsed the poses, which, in my opinion, is a very good thing. They were just doing the best they could, and having a great time.”

– One Sleepy Mom, May 25, 2012

“We’ll continue to use this dvd through the summer months when the weather is not cooperative for outdoor play or just to keep up go yoga stretching habits.”

Saving Green Being Green, May 22, 2012

“I really like the way yoga is introduced to young children on this DVD. The instructor tells a story to the children and the children follow along participating in the story.”

Grandma Bonnie’s Closet, May 22, 2012

” I cannot wait for the next sleepover at my house with my nieces and nephews. Storyland Yoga is the perfect way to start your day or conclude the night. I would recommend this DVD to anyone with children ages 3-8. The great part about this yoga for kids DVD, is that you can always have the older children come and help out too.”

Our Delightful Home, May 22, 2012

Fishful Of Thinking, May 22, 2012

Mamas Little Helper, May 20, 2012

“This video was not only good for my children physically but mentally and sisterly too, it is not very often we catch all 3 of them spending quality time together.”

Simply Shawn & Jenn, May 19, 2012

“I really liked that the poses were linked to the story. My students especially loved doing the animal poses. I was actually quite surprised that they kept their attention on the story the entire time.”

– The Beauty of it All, May 19, 2012

“”D” likes to do the yoga at least twice a day while the other children like to do it once. Ahmed, the instructor, is a great story teller and is great at keeping the kids’ attention. I think it also helps that they show other children on the DVD doing these yoga poses.”

The Momma Blogger, May 18, 2012

“They loved soaring through the air, meeting wizards, and going through a land of pretend with each pose. And just like we do they end their flow with a touch of their toes then reaching for the sun! The kids loved it and the postures fit the story and gave them a good workout.”

Mommy Moments with Abby, May 18, 2012

“When I first started the DVD my 4 year old granddaughter was sooo ready!! she had on her little t-shirt and leggings and said “I am going to work out” LOL too cute! As for the 3 year old well….he was not as excited, in fact he wanted to watch cartoons. He decided he was going to just watch his cousin instead. Within the first 5 minutes I had noticed that my grandson was starting to interact as well.”

My Empty Nest, May 18, 2012

“My son loves the story “Save the Whale”. The movie is a great movie to help clear children’s minds, great excercise and the stories have morals and values to them which make it great for children.”

ELITEMAMA, May 16, 2012

I was a little amazed as I’ve never really seen him be very interested in the T.V. or anything capture his attention in this manner. He really loved the plot of the story and the fact that he too was going to help the Condor Eggs to a place of safety. Having fun while learning is always an important key element for a child’s growth and lasts with them throughout the years

Blessed Elements, January 17, 2012

The thing about kids –and I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume it’s not just my own who are like this– is that they don’t always have the patience to hold yoga postures or meditate. But they certainly like stories. And excitement. And good old-fashioned silliness. Not exactly three things I think of when I think of yoga, but that’s exactly what I love about this new yoga DVD for kids.

Cool Mom Picks, November 5, 2011

I was very impressed with this DVD and feel it will be a favorite of SAP’s, she’s already asking me for “Mommy Yoga please!” instead of her beloved Blue’s Clues or Dora! I very much hope to see another storyland yoga DVD come out in the future with more stories and fun for the kids!

SAPs Mama, October 17, 2011

It was so fun! The girls were totally into it & it was cute to see them doing yoga poses that I remember from a grown up Yoga class that I took. It was surprising to me that going along with the story helped to distract me from the fact that I was doing exercise!

Raising Memories, October 11, 2011

My daughter loves this DVD! She asks me to play it for her just about every day and will mimic the yoga poses to the best of her two year old ability.

Natural Life Mom (A Little Bit of All of It Blog), October 1, 2011

It is important for children to get exercise during the day. Even as homeschoolers,we try to carve out daily time for physical education. One of our favorite things to do together is yoga. Yoga is a versatile activity that can be done indoors or outdoors. It’s the perfect physical activity for a rainy day!

Head Ant Blog, September 30, 2011

Storyland Yoga is different though. I think this encourages empathy and enables children to identify with the animals portrayed, helping form the framework for an ecologically responsible life. A thinking inquisitive mind and a healthy active body should be two of our goals for our children and Storyland Yoga, yoga for kids [3] is a great tool for teaching both.

Life in the Lost World, September 29, 2011

Uh-Oh-Mom Blog, September 29, 2011

My little ones had a blast with this kids yoga DVD, in fact they have done yoga a few times a week since receiving this DVD. I have found this product offers a little bit of everything. It has a great story to it, that keeps the little ones interested in what is going on.

Dragonfly SweetNest, September 28, 2011

I will admit, that I have never tried yoga before. It wasn’t my “thing”. I must say how enjoyable this was! Julien had a lot of fun (he was a little antsy in the beginning, but once the story got going he got into it). I was very surprised at how much of a workout it actually is – and realized how out of shape I am. Julien was able to keep up with it much more than I was.

Tales of Mommyhood, September 28, 2011

My two year old daughter and I had so much fun watching and interacting with this fun DVD!

Frugal Fabulous Finds, September 27, 2011

As creators of our own yoga and pilates workout videos for kids, it could be a conflict of interest for us to review other kid yoga DVD’s. But unlike other exercise business owners, we don’t believe we are THE ONLY ONES with ALL the answers. So we don’t see the Storyland Yoga DVD [1] as a competitor, but as one more resource toward which to point fellow parents who are looking for creative ways to keep their kids active.

Fit 2 Be Us, September 26, 2011

I’ve always been a fan of yoga. I love all the benefits for us not only physically, but mentally as well. While pregnant, I couldn’t wait to take “Mommy and Me” type yoga classes. I was more than thrilled to learn about PLAYFUL PLANET’S STORYLAND YOGA!

Maryland Momma’s Rambles and Reviews, September 26, 2011

Winter will arrive in Tennessee before we know it and while we don’t get a lot of snow here, we do get some very cold temperatures! This DVD will become a part of our PE curriculum. Once or twice a week will keep the kids stretching and moving which is so important! I think your 3-8 year olds would love this DVD as well!

Carter Chaos, September 26, 2011

I find this DVD really special. Not only are they guiding children through yoga…but they are encouraging them to become eco-friendly. Which I am strongly for!

Beautifully BellaFaith , September 26, 2011

I can see an improvement already and we have only done the DVD a few times. The more we do it the more determined C is to follow a long with me and do each task the other children are doing on TV. He really enjoys the various animals in the DVD. We frog jump all over the house.

Living at the Whitehead’s Zoo , September 24, 2011

RC likes it and requests that I play it almost everyday. She is very active running around the apartment and this one makes her exercise just infront of the TV. As early as now, she can learn about exercise.

Mom Daughter Style, September 23, 2011

It definitely kept their attention, as few things can. They stuck with the entire story. These are active boys I must say. It has won many parenting awards as well.

Close To Home , September 23, 2011

I love to do yoga so when I showed it to Mary she took to it quickly too. It also helps her focus too which is a plus to me.

Our Whiskey Lullaby, September 22, 2011

I received the DVD for review and I have to say it’s not just for kids, it’s for the whole family. Play along and try yoga with your children, for some good family quality time. The DVD is aged for children between the ages of 3-8, but would still be fun for the older ones as well.

A Spicy Boy, A Cat, and My Fat A, September 22, 2011

We were up moving around the entire time! This DVD will engage your child mentally and physically – perfect for rainy afternoons or bored children! Little Miss enjoyed the Save the Whale episode the most. I think it’s because it had dolphins in it, and she loves dolphins!

Frugally Green Mom, September 22, 2011

My daughter was really excited to pull out my yoga mat and give the DVD a try. The DVD is really great. She was engaged the entire time and enjoyed both the imaginative “play” as well as the poses.

Cake Mom, September 21, 2011

What is nice about the DVD and the yoga poses as the kids are listening and following a story. Ahmed tells a great story and it kept her fascinated all the way through it. She loved the yoga poses and wanted to play the DVD again.

Lollipops n’ Ladybugs, September 21, 2011

STORYLAND YOGA has proven to be a wonderful afterschool activity, helping our daughter relieve stress, relax and transition from school, to the home environment. As a childcare provider, I look forward to incorporating STORYLAND YOGA into our daily routine when the little ones I care for get a bit older. This KIDS YOGA DVD would make a wonderful addition to any school or daycare program, and would be a fantastic addition to any homeschool curriculum as well.

Eco-Crazy Mom, September 20, 2011

I don’t do yoga myself I know letting my daughter do it is a great and natural way to engage her body and imagination. The premises of this DVD is the kids get to partake in an eco-themed adventure letting them become fragile egg shells, leaping dolphins and even condor.

Nimbler Grove, September 20, 2011

This would be a great activity to put on when the kids could not go outside when the weather is bad. It brings in wonderful outdoor scenes and makes you feel like you are right there.

Family Stitchery , September 20, 2011

They haven’t done Yoga before and are wanting to play the DVD again! This DVD is great for any beginner to the whole family! Its fun and easy to follow along!

DnBuster ( , September 19, 2011

“We watched it over and over again countless times that first introduction to the DVD. It not only taught them yoga in a fun way but triggered their imaginations as my older son, 4, would hope off on his own little imaginary voyages as he watched this DVD then he’d get back on track again.”

My-2-Cents , September 20, 2011

Though this Award winning DVD is not just for moms at home with their little ones. How about using it during break at school for pre-school or early elementary grades. What a great way for them to stay flexible and healthy all year long, especially now that we will soon be in those cold winter months ahead of us.

Baba’s Farm Life , September 18, 2011

My girls instantly fell in love. As soon as the instructor on the DVD started talking, the girls listened intently. He made yoga fun by telling a great story along with it. It was amazing to see my daughters get so excited about yoga positions.

Mel Dreams Often , September 17, 2011

What I love most as a mom, is that this DVD keeps kids healthy and active through yoga, and they don’t even realizing they are getting exercise!  I also love the instructor Ahmed’s soothing voice that seemed to really put my kids into a calm and relaxed state.

Textbook Mommy, September 16, 2011

I believes this helps them be more healthy in a mind setting a within them selves. Yoga makes the body very relaxed. Also can ware you out. She had fun while watching and doing the yoga with the video. The instructor was also a great role model for these children. I really enjoyed this with my children.

They Inspire Me, September 16, 2011

I really think they thought or everything when they comes to providing something great for children and families and the planet we live on. I say heads up and great work Playful Planet!

Little Journeys World, September 16, 2011

I have enjoyed this yoga for kids program because it allowed me and my children to grasp hands on experiences together that will give us a lasting connection between us as individuals and our planet as a whole.

Trying New Products, September 15, 2011

It is a great way to rest and relax, stretch and tomorrow, I’m going to use the DVD again when I’m alone.  I know, I know, it’s for kids but you don’t think I care do you?  What’s a better place to start than on the level for children?  And, after I get my calm, cool, peaceful day in gear, you might be surprised at what all you can learn from me.

Mom-E-Centric, September 12, 2011

I recommend you and your child get up off the couch today and join us in doing Storyland Yoga! The time spent together doing this video will strengthen not only your body and mind, but will strengthen your relationship with your child and our planet.

An Island Life (Hawaii Mom Blog) August 2, 2011

Here are some of my favorite things from the DVD:  Fun variations on familiar poses; How they incorporated health-conscious & eco-friendly ideas into the yoga story; Fun kid-friendly animation interspersed throughout the video is sure to keep young yogis’ attention.

OMazing Kids Yoga, July 30, 2011

A&W at nearly 5 really enjoy doing this video and we do it several times a week.  Condor Trek is their favorite taking them on a mission to help a mommy condor get her eggs back.  So fun!  I love that the boys are getting an introduction to yoga, a great story and the wonderful health benefits of yoga (stretching, flexibility, focus etc…).  Thumbs up from us all!

Reviewed by Mom, July 23, 2011

I think this DVD is great for all children, but I think it’s perfect for kids who have never done yoga before.  The storytelling aspect of this DVD makes it easy and fun to follow and also teaches your children a lesson on the planet.  If you’re travelling, it gives your child an alternative activity to do while giving you some downtime!

Mommas In the House, July 18, 2011

I highly recommend this DVD to anyone looking to add in some different options for P.E. for this upcoming school year! Both of our kids absolutely love doing yoga with this DVD.

Enchanted Homeschooling Mom, July 11, 2011

The ages of my children range from 2 to 11, so you can forget the age “limits” that are imposed on the DVD, and every single one of them started participating! During the entire length of the DVD, the children were completely engaged, but they weren’t jumping all over the place…they were doing exactly what the children were doing on the video screen: YOGA! Seriously, my group of six children (five of them being boys) were all enticed by this DVD!  I find the DVD not only educational and engaging, but also so very “healthy” for families…Seriously, there should be a whole series of these on television for the children on a daily basis!

Mommy Rantings, June 9, 2011

With three little girls, I really like finding things that are fun, indoors – we live in Texas after all, and entertaining enough to keep their attention for long spans of time…  5 minutes.  If I can find something that also gets them off of their keysters that I am even more excited about it! Storyland Yoga by Playful Planet is just what the mother in me ordered!  5 STARS for sure!

A Day in Motherhood, May 26, 2011

Zoë had fun watching the yoga programs and kept asking to “do yoga” again. If you’re looking for a fun activity to do with your child, check out Storyland Yoga.

Happy Mothering, April 21, 2011

My nephew was engaged and enthusiastic from the very first minute of the video. His baby sister imitated him, but it was slow and gentle enough, that it was even enjoyable for someone younger than the recommended age  range of 3-8. At the very end of the video, Ahmed Fahmy (the instructor) announced that this would help with muscles and my nephew looked at me proudly with a flexed arm. Perfect motivation!

Our Daily Green Life, April 11, 2011

This fun DVD is a wonderful way to introduce children and their friends to yoga for the first time, and it’s an easy activity that can be done with them on any day. I found it to be excellent before the calm hour or quiet nap time. Kids can get their energy and excitement up just enough, but can still be brought back down to complete calmness very quickly.

The Chatty Momma, April 10, 2011

We all know that Yoga has great benefits for all of us physically and mentally.  …now there is Playful Planet’s Storyland Yoga to add a fun twist to yoga your children ages 3-8 (and mom & dad & teacher too). I definitely highly recommend this to other parents & teachers of 3-8 yr olds, it is great for bonding as well as exercise of mind, body and spirit!

My Springfield Mommy, March 28, 2011

Every day since we first did this they have asked me to do it again. I think it is the perfect activity for days when the weather keeps you in the house. Because it is fun and relaxing with some exercise mixed in, it can also be something you incorporate into your daily routines. This is definitely a big hit in our house.

Green Mama’s Pad, March 28, 2011

We found it to be a fun way to introduce yoga to kids and get them more active. Yoga also helps kids relax and focus. I think we all agree that today’s video game generation needs a lot more focus!

Your Fun Family, March 17, 2011

My kids love to exercise with me & this DVD was just perfect for them. They were stoked that it was specifically for them & it was quite entertaining EVEN for me. The DVD had many features including; explanation of the poses & 2 stories that the kids could do.  Definitely a FABULOUS FIND!

Moana Saves, March 14, 2011

I think that the actual story telling of Storyland Yoga is a great approach to keep the children interested. We read a lot of stories together, and instructor Ahmed Fahmy tells a great story to keep the children focused. While telling the story, he sneaks in some fun facts, and gets them on their feet and takes them on an imaginary journey.

My OKC Mommy, March 14, 2011

I love doing yoga, but doing it with my kids can be a challenge.  I have tried some different yoga dvd’s but really like Storyland Yoga from! They loved the stories and being able to do yoga just like mommy does! I really like to have the kids do this video before bed. What is great is they can do the yoga in their jammies and get relaxed for bed.  This is a great alternative to TV before bedtime, and gives your child the opportunity to enjoy fitness.

Frugal Family Fun, March 12, 2011

Moms know that exercise is important and that many children would prefer to sit in front of a computer or television.  Now, with this DVD, their children are having fun, while getting much needed exercise and learning about the planet.  If you are looking for a fun and interactive yoga DVD for your child, that even you, would want to take part in, then you must pick up Storyland Yoga today.

Inspired by Savannah, March 8, 2011

After it was over I was sure that they would be tired of it and want to move on to something else.  When I turned it off I found quite the opposite.  My son started to cry saying he wanted to do more exercises – it was a definite hit with them!   My children have asked daily to do another story and workout with the DVD.

Mommy Moment, March 7, 2011

I found that it was very easy for the kids to follow along with what the kids in the DVD were doing.  Storyland Yoga is recommended for children ages 3 – 8 (my DramaQueen is almost 11 and loved it). Not to mention, both of them took a really nice nap after their Yoga session and Tatertot keeps asking if he can do his “Oga” again!

The Megalomaniac Mommy, March 3, 2011

…when it comes to kids, there is no doubt that you must include an element of fun to make it interesting for them. Add the element of story-telling with an eco-conscious message, and you end up with a fun-filled adventure that incorporates yoga postures. And Storyland Yoga by Playful Planet does just that. It sure was a nice change from the same old cartoons that they tend to watch and, because it teaches them about the importance of respecting animals and nature, it was reassuring to me that they are learning important lessons as well as yoga. It was also interesting to see that they stopped playing with their toys to listen to the story. That’s how captivating it was for them.

Toronto Teacher Mom, February 26, 2011

I’m not a diehard or a yoga expert by any means, of course, but I enjoy it when I get a chance – which might be a little more often, thanks to PlayFul Planet.  My two and a half year old was all game for “exercising with Mami”, and while she didn’t exactly get all the poses right (it’s not like I ever do, either LOL), we enjoyed it together.  I look forward to more titles down the road from this company!

Confessions of a Psychotic Housewife, February 26, 2011

A lot of people ask me what I do for PE with my kids.  I was very excited when I got Storyland Yoga to review for my kids.  My kids LOVE it.  My kids even did Storyland Yoga the other night before bed because it wasn’t quite bedtime, but they were bored so they went and got out their “mats” {towels} and did yoga before bed.  They were so cute!

The Things I Love, February 23, 2011 (a homeschooling mom)

I love that Storyland Yoga brings the world of imagination to my living room, and shows just how much fun it can be to practice yoga! I think this will be a great tool for bonding and for exercise for Darah and me to do together!

Stuff Parents Need, February 23, 2011

My 7 year old daughter, Gracie, just couldn’t wait to view this DVD!  Storyland Yoga by Playful Planet is certainly a unique idea, teaching children both yoga and the endangered species of the planet through storytelling!  I plan to use this wonderful DVD at Gracie’s birthday party in April! What a great instrument for teaching! I urge all of you with children ages 3-8 to purchase this video!

Psychic Mama, Indigo Child, February 23, 2011

My granddaughter loves it!

Bringing her in touch with nature, fun in learning yoga and getting her exercising in a playful fashion!  Playful Planet Storyland Yoga is a delight! Where were you when my children were younger?

Peg’s Play, February 20, 2011

I LOVE this video. I love that it teaches to be kind to our planet, it teaches my kids healthy living and as a bonus the DVD comes in a cardboard case making it environment friendly.

Bass Giraffe’s Thoughts, February 18, 2011

At first, they just wanted to do one of them, but then Michael came in almost in tears and begged to do the next one!

Jenn’s RAQ, February 18, 2011

The girls loved the stories. They giggled at some of the positions, but kept trucking along with the story because it was fun and because they wanted to do the whole thing

Blogfully, February 17, 2011

Within minutes both children (3 year old daughter and 5year old son) were mimicking the yoga movements weaved into the story and you could tell they were enjoying it!  It had them captivated for the entire story. They wanted to go right into the next story.  It is not only entertaining but gets the kids moving. I definitely recommend it!

Fun On A Dime, February 12, 2011

I belong to a very health conscious family. We are heavy promoters of children getting adequate physical activity in their daily schedules.  In my opinion they accomplish everything that they are trying to accomplish with their product!

Perspectives from a Southern Belle, February 11, 2011

Fahmy does a beautiful job of storytelling and the delight on the children’s faces as he reveals different aspects of the story is adorable. I loved the fact that my children were listening to a beautiful story about nature and at the same time exercising

The Mama Report, February 11, 2011

This DVD definitely sparks the imagination and engages the body as well. I think the funniest thing was later in the day I still had to carry around my condor eggs!!  He kept telling me to be careful.  Finally, I had to put them in my pocket for safekeeping. He has even asked to watch it again.

Makobi Scribe, February 10, 2011

I must say, I was a little surprized to see them follow the instructor so well, as my 4 year olds are far from the stereotypical yogi…they consider themselves “wild heavy metal kinda boys”.    The more we watched it, the more yoga poses they did…it was a breath of fresh air seeing them relaxing, and having fun in such a soothing environment.   Who knew that yoga was soooo contagious? Storyland Yoga DVD gets 5 out of 5 from me…and from my wild kids :), February 9, 2011

I’d 100% recommend this DVD to anyone with young children.  The stories are imaginative and believable, it’s not too “quick” to follow along with, and the kids love it. :)  Oh, and hey, I kinda loved it too!  As someone with minimal experience doing yoga of any kind, I can tell you that I certainly felt great after doing the stretches along with D.

Born 2 Be Mom, February 9, 2011

This dvd offers exercise for the body and the mind, not just feeding imaginations but educating children at the same time.  What’s not to like?

Girl Gone Mom, February 8, 2011

…this SUPER CUTE DVD is exactly what I have been looking for…I think that it’s an excellent product and my girls REALLY enjoyed themselves! …just take Ainsley & Ava’s word for it and head straight to to purchase it for your own little cuties.

Lots of Fun with My Family, February 8, 2011

We did ‘Condor Trek’ as a family with my 10 and 11 year old kids. The pace is perfect for Little Zelda Fanatic at three years old but is also fast enough for the older kids to maintain their interest in the DVD.  I also love that it gives me and the two littles in my house a chance to play together. I want health to be important to them as they grow, and nothing is more influential than getting involved and giving them an example to go by.

Cloth Diapering Mommy to Six, February 5, 2011

When I received award-winning Storyland Yoga, I was going to share it with my grandkids. Then, I thought about my daughter’s daycare with several young kids who would love watching the DVD. And I was right.

…all the kids loved this movie. They stopped in their tracks to watch, and practice the moves. When it ended they wanted to watch it again.

Barbara’s Beat, February 3, 2011

This DVD was amazing!  It was fun for the whole family and completely engaging, even for my youngest child.
Throughout the dvd,…fun stories kept the kids so involved that they hardly realized that they were stretching, moving and exercising. The two unique stories, “Save the Whale” and “Condor Trek”, are interactive and will completely engage your child’s imagination.

Macaroni Kid, February 2, 2011

The first impression when I opened the package containing the Storyland Yoga DVD was, Wow! This has received some prestigious awards!  The DVD deserved these awards without a doubt. Storyland Yoga is a brilliant blend of everything you want your kids to gain from TV time!  It is commendable how Playful Planet packed so much entertainment and positive awareness of our planet in this one video. It has been 5 days since we received Storyland Yoga. We have played along with Ahmed everyday!

Grandma Sez So, February 4, 2011

Caitlin and DJ did the save the whale story today. It was about 20 minutes long, and just enough to get their blood flowing, for the beginning of their school day.  It is only $14.99 which is comparable to any kids exercise video. This would make a great gift for Valentines Day, or Easter Baskets.

Melissa’s Homeschool Blog, February 4, 2011

My kids loved this!  During these long winter months, it seems like my kids spend A LOT of time in front of the TV or computer.  What better way to get them moving and stretching than…let them enjoy Storyland Yoga.

Diary of a Stay At Home Mom, February 1, 2011

I figured they would like doing the DVD, but their actual reactions surpassed my expectations.  It’d be perfect for children who don’t want or like to exercise, since it doesn’t feel like actual exercise but more of a play time.

Obviously Marvelous, February 1, 2011

I give this DVD a 10 out of 10.  The instructor, cartoon animations and children on the video did an amazing job of capturing my boys attention by relating their movements to a large variety of animals. They loved it.  I am thrilled to have such a fun way to add fitness to their lives at such a young age. I have been a group fitness instructor for 18 years and have taught children’s classes in the past so I felt this review was right up my alley.

Belly Charms, January 31, 2011

Cohen had a blast with this the first time we put it in and now he asks for it every morning! I gladly put it on for him because I love all of the great things it teaches him! :)  I love that this teaches so many great things in one video! The kids can learn to be healthy, learn a fun new skill (yoga), learn about the environment and how they, even as kids, can take part in helping to preserve it!

And Then There Were 4, January 31, 2011

“Storyland Yoga to the Rescue!”:  Being a children’s dance and creative movement teacher, I use a story format with my students while we are stretching on the floor during class, so I was really interested to see yoga taught to children using this same type of approach. And let me tell ya – Storyland Yoga did not disappoint!  Not only is it a good workout (for both mom & kids), but the yoga stories also stretch the imagination… Who knew yoga could be so interactive and fun?

Writing the Waves of Motherhood, January 18, 2011

With three boys… I was a bit skeptical about how this kids yoga dvd would be received.  Before I knew it all three – ages 18 months, 4 and 8 –  were running around making bear roars, snaking along the floor, doing the downward dog and more. I was very impressed, and while the kids and I have now tried out the Storyland Yoga dvd from Playful Planet numerous times, it does not get less interesting with time. Storyland Yoga is the perfect solution to combining yoga with having fun with my kids.

Frugality is Free, January 18, 2011

Jayden is able to follow along and participate in most of it at 2 1/2. I think as he watches more and gets older he will understand more of what he is doing. But until then he is having fun.  I would recommend this DVD to anyone that wants to introduce Yoga and healthy living to their young child.  It would even be good for someone that wants to keep television watching to educational or beneficial only.

Arizona Mama, January 16, 2010

Being a yoga “newbie” I enjoyed doing the poses with her. It was a very fun way to spend some quality time with each other.  The story lines were fun and very entertaining, and they held my 4 year old’s attention – something that is not a small feat by any means!   We have watched this video numerous times, and it always seems to find its way onto the TV when it is too cold or wet to get some outdoor play time.

MomVantage, January 15, 2010

Tifani has a very active imagination and Storyland Yoga was perfect for her! She has asked to watch it numerous of times.  We’ve never did yoga in my house before. I have to say Storyland Yoga is a great way to get your kids to stretch and use their imagination.

Tifani’s Mom, January 10, 2011

The morning is a perfect time to do some yoga, while you wait for that coffee to brew!   They’ll take your kids on a magical journey and keep their interest!  Children LOVE it!

Savvy Sassy Moms, December 28, 2010

Call us lemmings, but we must admit the Storyland DVD is a terrific idea excellently executed.  The DVD really presents a whole new and fun way for kids to learn Yoga.It seems like every parent starts the New Year with a resolution to be more healthy and spend more time with the family — get the Storyland Yoga DVD and kill two birds with one stone.  Oh wait, that cliche probably doesn’t work for an eco and animal friendly DVD.  How about — save two Condors with one pose.

Dad Does, December 28, 2010

Children will love the stories and the ability to mimic the action happening on screen. By becoming so enthralled in the storyline, they’ll hardly realize that they are doing yoga!

Mom Central, December 28, 2010

It’s the best way to spend time with your kids. It’s a workout and story all in one. I enjoyed it just as much as my kids did. We do our Storyland Yoga every night and it quickly turned into part of our daily routine.  It would make a perfect birthday present, with a pair of yoga pants or a yoga mat. 😉

Peaceful Wishing, December 23, 2010

My kids had so much fun imitating animals and learning new yoga poses and I love the calming effect that it has on them.  In the late afternoon we would put Storyland Yoga in the DVD and I would let them select their favorite story choosing between “Save the Whale” and “Condor Trek.”   On some days my children begged to do both stories they liked it so much. On some days my children begged to do both stories they liked it so much.

Simply Stacie, December 20, 2010

I love that it was not just, “do this pose, now do that pose.” It was an actually story that got my kids involved!    What is even more impressive is that my daughter (with ADHD), who normally can not be entertained for more than 10-15 minutes, actually completed the story and was able to help her Condor egg get back to it’s mama!

Buzzing the Day Away, December 17, 2010

We received this wonderful DVD and my daughter absolutely Loves it.  Everyday she asks me if she can put on some “exercise clothes” and do her story.  I love the way that Playful Planet combined story telling into an exercise.  The kids will not know that this is so healthy for them and it introduces them into a world of yoga that they can carry on in their life.

Fairy Good Mommy, December 12, 2010

There is just something about this movie that catches the kids attention and makes them want to join in! I love that the story keeps the kids interested and even with us watching it EVERYDAY, they are not worn out. There are two different story work outs on this one DVD so we do a different one every other day!

I give Storyland Yoga 5 stars! It is exactly what I was looking for and the kids love it. I think that it would make a GREAT Christmas gift for the little ones in your life or even for daycare centers and preschools!

Mommy Minded, December 11, 2010

Storyland Yoga is great fun for parents also who can benefit from yoga, while enjoying a special bonding time with their children.  We enjoyed spending time together and … and will be using it regularly.

Peekaboo Picks Magazine, December 8, 2010 (Ultimate Holiday Gift Guide)

Mama Manifesto, December 7, 2010 (Ultimate Gift Guide)  (Children) …should be encouraged, motivated, coaxed into exercising! It is much better if they learn to love to exercise and remain physically active from a relatively younger age. And this is why I fell in love with Storyland Yoga DVD. They blended the concept of watching and exercising so that it becomes a win-win.  Yay!

Toddler Tales by Mommy, December 6, 2010  Overall, I thought this video was very entertaining and a great reference to teach your kids many important things!  1) Exercise can be and should be fun!  2) Everyone, regardless of age, can help to save our planet and take better care of what was entrusted to us.  3) The use of your imagination creates a very well-rounded child!

Go Long, Go Green, December 3, 2010  My daughter loves Storyland Yoga; the stories are so cute that she looks at it as one of her regular DVDs instead of an exercise program.  This DVD takes her away from TV and instills positivity and happiness all while strengthening her and improving flexibility. I absolutely love it; the messages behind the programs are a bonus to the health benefits of yoga.

Upside to Rainy Days, December 1, 2010    This is a great interactive activity for a parent and child to do together. I have a 4 year old daughter, and she loved the DVD.  I am sure this will make it into her list of videos to watch and rewatch!

Mom In Training, December 1, 2010    “It’s great fun! One of the things I love is that every time you purchase a DVD…Playful Planet donates a portion of the proceeds to benefit the world.  It will either benefit kids, benefit the environment, or benefit the world community.”

Extraordinary Mommy, November 29, 2010 (Holiday Gift Guide Vlog)

“The instructor, Ahmed, has a delightful personality and a gift at telling stories.”

Ann-Crabs, November 24, 2010

“ is apparent that (Ahmed) truly enjoys what he does. My niece and nephew laughed and giggled as they listened to the story and acted out all the yoga poses.”

Mom’s Tree House, November 22, 2010

“I would definitely recommend this dvd for kids 3-8!  I cant wait to share this with more of Zach’s friends!”

Finding Our Way Home, November 22, 2010

“I love it!  Storyland Yoga is something I can feel totally good about him watching!  What is even better is that I love doing it alongside him! now that I’ve experienced it, I can no longer live without it.”

Oh So Savvy Mom, November 18, 2010

I also like that this program incorporates  an eco-conscious message. The children are embracing green ideas throughout the lessons. My little one actually cried when it was over and I told him their was no more.

Be Your Best Mom, November 17, 2010

“This is a wonderful tool for bonding time with parents and children and a way to get kids active instead of just vegging out in front of the tv. This dvd is even packaged eco friendly in a thin 100% recycled cardboard case. I am a proud self professed tree hugger and this makes me very, very happy.”

Sticky Hands, BooBoos and Why’s, November 17, 2010

“This is a fantastic DVD that we are going to use to start a Yoga regimen before and / or after school. I urge you to try it out also with your little ones. I know mine loved it and hope yours will too.”

Tiff’s Pixie Dust, November 17, 2010

As a mom it feels good for my soul to put in a DVD that I know will engage my kids and educate them and entertain them. This a beautifully done DVD with an engaging story that also teaches the kids about yoga and staying active. The use of imagination is just brilliant and it’s something I often forget… the power of my kids’ imaginations…and this DVD fuels it so naturally.”

– Mother of 1 Princess and 2 Princes, November 16, 2010

“This is a kid’s yoga DVD with more than yoga poses, this DVD has an amazing message of love for nature.”

– Trendy Mamas, November, 15, 2010

“I thought that they would probably want to give up half way through Condor Trek but they just blazed right though and loved every minute of it. Our family has committed to making changes starting this month into the new year and for the rest of our lives and that was to never give up on exercising to stay healthy for ourselves and each other. What a perfect stocking stuffer this would make for your family and kids, the gift of healthy kids.”

Luscious Deals, November 15, 2010

“We did “Save the Whale” first, and then had a great talk about what we can do to help the whales, and why conservation is important.  They are really “getting it”, kids are not “too young” for these important concepts.  This is their future, after all!”

Have Sippy Will Travel, November 13, 2010

I was very impressed with how entertaining these narrations really are. I highly recommend Storyland Yoga to anyone who has kids, grand kids, nieces, nephews or younger siblings

Texas Kitchen, November 12, 2010   “This (Storyland) Yoga for kids is a great tool to help us raise more eco-conscious and healthier kids! …plus it’s just plain fun for the wee ones. I know what we will be doing on a cold winter day or a rainy day when we are indoors – imitating animals and going on “yoga adventures” to help the planet”

– Smiling Green Mom, November 5, 2010   “All I can say is that this DVD was an absolute blast! I have an eight-year-old and a two-year-old.  Both were enthralled and loved doing the poses right along with me. Matter of fact, watching the DVD was a great way to get me actively playing with my kids.”

Surf Net Parents, November 1, 2010

Baby Good Buys, October 30, 2010 (2010 Holiday Gift Guide)

– The Extraordinary-Ordinary, October 22, 2010

“Kora loves Storyland Yoga and is always asking if she can “do the Yoga DVD,” which is such a nice change of pace from hearing her ask, “Can I watch a show?” We recommend it for anyone who wants to get their children up off the couch and moving.”

2 Wired 2 Tired, October 21, 2010

“I’m happy to report that Jackson can now do a perfect Downward Dog.The DVD also has excellent special features, including videos about the benefits of yoga, various yoga poses and ideas for how to incorporate yoga into your own storytelling.”

– Toni’s Treehouse August 19, 2010

“We laughed, we had fun, and we got a nice stretch. The DVD promises to help children “connect with nature” and gain “respect for their own health and well-being” and I’d say that the DVD accomplished that and a whole lot more.”

The Everything Yoga Blog – July 23, 2010

“It’s so easy to get caught up in the story and the positive environmental message, that you hardly even notice that you’re getting a yoga workout. It’s perfectly suited for kids, but can also be fun for mom and dad to join in, too.”

Sweeps4Bloggers, June 8, 2010
